The Tuzla area is famous for its pine forests and salt water lake, which meanders its way through the traditional fishing village of Bogazici and the Mandalya bay, eventually flowing into the Aegean Sea. The lake is a protected nature reserve for migrating birdlife, popular with bird watchers and nature lovers. Each year between October and April thousands of Pink Flamingos, Pelicans, Storks and Egrets flock to the area.
Colourful fish restaurants decorate the waterside of Bogazici village offering the freshest catch of the day. The area has plenty of natural beaches, family run restaurants and a few small beach clubs. Traditional wooden boats offer daily boat trips where you can further explore the area, and swim and snorkel in the nearby coves. There is also an 18-hole golf course close to the Tuzla lake, with beautiful well-kept greens and a charming Club House with restaurant and bar. For History lovers, the nearby ancient city of Bargilia and its unspoilt stone village is the perfect place to explore and immerse yourself in times gone by.
